Samsung New Update Rolled out Millions of Galaxy Phones for 2025, Aim at iPhone, Outdoes Pixel

Samsung is very much on Apple’s heels, and the latest update proves it’s the best device non-Apple users can have maximum security and privacy. Android 15 itself raised the bar sky high by introducing a ton of innovations, while Samsung even went further. This new development is a big change for Galaxy phones.

What's New?? in Samsung New Update

As per SammyFans on Tuesday, “Samsung is rolling out a new update for the Auto Blocker feature, improving security to increase overall device performance. For those who need more protection, Auto Blocker now features a ‘Maximum restrictions’ option. This feature restricts some device features to keep you safer when enabled.”
As I wrote earlier this month, Samsung’s One UI 7 locks down Galaxy phones even further, making it harder to do dangerous stuff, like sideload apps, sidestep device restrictions or connect to unsecured networks or accessories. Samsung promises huge refinements to Galaxy devices over Android 14 and One UI 6 by 2025

In Samsung New Update, it expands its ecosystem and user base, Maximum Protection is being “upgraded” on millions more devices in preparation for these changes. Some features in Samsung Messages and Gallery will be limited, according to SammyFans. “This keeps your messages and photos secure from peeping eyes.”
The big changes will come with Android 15 and One UI 7, which has Galaxy-exclusive security measures, including One UI’s ability to protect personal information while offering users choice, transparency, and integrated security settings — “because privacy in the AI era mandates holistic security.”

The major change here is even tighter restrictions on sideloading. Samsung explains that “only apps verified from trusted sources, like the Galaxy Store or Play Store, can be installed.” “If you attempt to install apps from unknown or unauthorized sources, you’re given a pop-up warning and Auto Blocker will prevent the installation.” If the app is found to be safe, you can turn off this feature for a time and give it another test run.”

This is already under way at Samsung new update, focusing on an aspect that has long stood out in comparison to the presence of iPhones in people’s lives. As Google’s beefing up Play Protect to combat Android’s famous weaknesses, Samsung is taking it a step further. One UI 7 goes beyond just installations, with universal 2G blocking and better protection against risky physical data cable connections. Speaking of the latest autoblock update, “right now, the new features are available for Galaxy S24 series users, and many other Galaxy flagships also received support via new update. You should be able to go to Menu >> Updates from the Galaxy Store to download it now, providing you have the latest Auto Blocker update.

Android is also evolving. After some introspection and soul-searching following Justice Department challenges to the way Google does business in the U.S., Google has now taken a different tack: It is offering partners who use Google services a recalibrated revised partnership. That entails easing Google Search’s stranglehold on iPhone and giving Android OEMs more leeway to decide which Google apps go on devices. For Samsung, this is an opportunity to stand Galaxy apart from Android.

So it’s an excellent opportunity: Is Galaxy a real iPhone rival when it comes to security and privacy? Not quite yet. The gulf was still too wide, with big hurdles hosting the cloud AI in private and tackling Android malware still before us. However, thanks to this Samsung new update and the impending One UI 7, it is getting closer. It’s also setting itself apart from the Pixel threat that’s rising thanks to solid features and pricing, aiming to be the closest thing we have to an iPhone alternative in premium features but in an Android body for the here and now.
